About Sketch and Savor
Sketch and Savor is an observational drawing experience created to help participants build a personal connection with the Colosseum through careful observation and sketching.
The experience is designed around individual observation, creativity and quiet reflection rather than historical narration.
What this experience includes
Participants receive all drawing materials and are guided through a relaxed sketching experience overlooking the Colosseum.
During the activity, brief observations may be shared to support the understanding of shapes, proportions and architectural details that participants are drawing.
These observations are provided exclusively to support the creative process.
What this experience is not. Sketch and Savor is not:
a guided tour of the Colosseum;
a historical tour;
a sightseeing tour;
a museum visit;
a substitute for licensed tourist guide services.
The experience does not include admission to the Colosseum.
The purpose of the experience
The purpose of Sketch and Savor is not to explain the history of the monument.
Its purpose is to encourage participants to observe more carefully, draw with greater awareness and develop a personal relationship with one of the world’s most iconic places.
Sketching is simply the medium through which this experience takes place.
