WHY RAY EXISTS
RAY was born as “Rome And You.”
Today it means something bigger. A meeting between a person and a place. People travel for different reasons. Some want to see everything. Some want to slow down. Some are looking for something they can’t quite explain.
When a place stops feeling like a monument. It starts feeling personal. No one can tell you when that moment will come. Or why. It is different for everyone.
RAY exists for this reason. To create the conditions to experience a place.
Not to tell you what to see. Not to tell you what to feel. Only to create the conditions for your own experience. Because there isn’t one right way to experience a place. There is only yours.
What I Have learned
Over the years, I have observed thousands of people visiting places that mattered to them. Many arrive with excitement. Some leave inspired. Others leave disappointed. Not because the place wasn’t beautiful. But because something never happened.The place never became theirs. Crowds. Rushing from one attraction to the next. Too much planning. Too much information. The pressure to see everything.
Sometimes the experience people imagined is very different from the one they actually have.
What I Believe
Some places deserve more than a quick visit. They deserve attention. Time. Curiosity. Not because everyone should experience them the same way
But because everyone deserves the chance to experience a place in their own way.
What I Promise
I cannot promise that you will be moved. I cannot promise that you will fall in love with a place. Those moments belong to you.
What I can promise is this.
I create the conditions for a more personal experience.
A slower pace. Small groups. No pressure to keep moving. No one standing between you and the place. A simple activity that helps you look more carefully.
Everything else is yours.
How It Begins
Today, it begins with sketching. Drawing asks something very simple. Sketching is not about making a good drawing. It’s about giving yourself enough time to really notice a place. To stop and to look, really look.
When you draw, you can’t rush. You begin to notice things you would normally walk past. No two people notice the same details. No two sketches are ever the same. That isn’t the goal. It’s simply what happens when you spend time looking instead of passing by.
Tomorrow, it may begin with something else. The method can change. The invitation never will.
